Set up a desk phone with UniFi Talk.
The desk phone keeps signing in to UniFi Talk, and UniFi Talk connects to QuorumVoice as its SIP provider. Calls to your number ring the desk phone, the web app and the mobile app together.
- No ports to open
- No second number
- Your routing stays in UniFi Talk
Desk phones come with the Portfolio plan. An owner or admin does steps 1 and 4. Tested with UniFi Talk.
- 1
In QuorumVoice
Add the desk phone.
Go to Settings → Desk phones and choose Add desk phone for the person who sits at it. Copy the Username and Password right away: the password is shown once.
- 2
In UniFi Talk
Add QuorumVoice as a SIP provider.
Add a third-party SIP provider, pick Telnyx, the carrier QuorumVoice runs on, and fill in:
- Username
- The username from step 1
- Password
- The password from step 1
- Outbound Number Format
- E.164, the +1 format
- Phone Numbers
- Your QuorumVoice number, like +15550100123
Under Advanced
- SIP Proxy
- sip.telnyx.com
- Register
- On
- IP Address Range
- Telnyx’s SIP signalling addresses: 192.76.120.10 and 64.16.250.10 for the US. Check Telnyx’s current list
- 3
In UniFi Talk
Give the number to the person.
Give the user an extension of 2 to 5 digits, set the QuorumVoice number as their Primary Number, and assign the desk phone to them.
- 4
In QuorumVoice
Ring the phone through UniFi Talk.
Back in Settings → Desk phones, change the phone’s ringing from Ring by login to Phone system (UniFi Talk). Enter your UniFi console’s public IP address in Console address, like 203.0.113.10, and choose Save. The port is optional: QuorumVoice finds the live connection by itself.
- 5
Test
Make two test calls.
Call your QuorumVoice number from a cell phone. The desk phone, the web app and the mobile app ring together, and the desk phone shows the caller’s number. Then call out from the desk phone: the other side sees your QuorumVoice number.
